Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist for Dreamville Records by J. Cole. Her first EP, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first posted music online in 2012. The singer released her debut album Ariography as well as her debut mixtape in 2013 with Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her songs online, including her self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time and wanted her to perform on Rihanna references. The announcement of her decision to be signed to Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 21st, 2016, her debut EP was released titled Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017, in which she accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018, released her first single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video to accompany it was released on September 5th. Then on the 9th of November the singer released two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). In November, 13, she released two additional singles titled No One and Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby was released in her debut single February 26, 2019, for the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole as part of her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The track was accompanied by the music video which debuted in February 20th, 2019 and surpassed 3 million views on YouTube within its first seven days. In December of 2018, she was part of her From East Atlanta With Love Tour that featured 6LACK.
